Yeah, I really did believe the "meat juice" line until I was like 25 or something. And I'll have you know, my avatar has been eating chocolate. I must admit however, I think that picture makes all of my posts seem more bizzare than they really are.

JWs... That's not "MEAT JUICE" that you're eating !
by AlphaOmega ina while ago i had a discussion with a jw who swung the conversation around to "the blood issue"... .
i asked him that as he "abstained from blood", does he therefore only eat "kosher meat".. his response was "what's does kosher mean" !.
i explained, and he then told me that all meat nowadays was "kosher", and that the red juice that runs from a steak is infact "meat juice" and not blood, so it was okay to eat.. hmmmmmn.... .

Were You "Refreshed" After Going To Meetings & Assemblies?
by minimus inthey say that our spiritual food is sooo refreshing!
it's "just what we needed"!.
how did you feel after going out in the ministry or after a meeting?.

Yucky! That's how I felt after an entire day of sitting and harldy drinking any water the whole day. Then after an hour or longer drive home from the assembly hall, just horrible. Two day assemblies ment a whole weekend that you get nothing accomplished. (And lose 6-8 hours of feild service) Three day conventions always gave me digestive problems.

Inspired or Guilted by the One-legged Pioneer Sister?
by compound complex infriends: guilted or inspired?.
one of our dear regular posters mentioned that she knew the same one-legged pioneer sister i had heard tell of throughout my career as a jehovah's witness.
the tear-jerking accounts of her ten exemplary, theocratic children, all of whom could recite the books of the bible before they could say dada, inspired me to teach my own children well, however late in their own adolescence it took them to come up with their own gurgly version of dada.

I forgot about the woman in the iron lung, though.
Who could ever forget about Laurel Nesbit! For shame.

What are young JDubs doing after High School?

What's big around here is quitting school in 9th or 10th grade to be home schooled because the kids want to "pioneer". They don't. They sleep until noon and watch game shows all day. Then they have a huge graduation party, get married and work for a brother in the congregation. Or they get married, get pregnant and end up living off of mommy and daddy, who also have no money.

JW calling on me left a card for me after my cutting up Bible Teach brochur
by kwintestal inso i've been having an elderly jw call on my for the last few months, but i haven't seen her for most of the summer because i've been quite busy doing other things.
anyway, the last time she called she left the brochure "what does the bible really teach?

My favorite dessert is bread pudding. I don't know how well that would do for a dessert business though (or maybe it would?)
1 loaf stale bread, torn into small pieces, 2 eggs, 2 cups of milk, 1 cup of sugar, handful of raisins, cinnamon, vanilla. put into 9x13 pan bake 45min- 1 hour.
Its great all by itself or hot wtih carmel or whiskey sauce.

all Watchtower material contains coded messages.
by under_believer inunder_believer has joined the mason/illuminati/shapeshifting lizardman conspiracy theory crowd!
everything the watchtower writes for witness consumption has a subtext.
there is a difference between what they actually write, which anyone in the public can read, and what they actually mean.

I hate Walmart!
by Elsewhere ini rarely ever set foot in the place and will go out of my way to avoid shopping there.
tonight i made the mistake of giving walmart the benefit of the doubt and walked in the door.. they didn't have the main item i was looking for, but they did have one other small item.
i headed to the front to check out only to find they had only a few check-outs open and all of the lines were far too long.

Add me to the Walmart Haters Club. Like Hortensia said, my boycotting it isn't going to hurt them in any way. But by patronizing them I am showing support for their effort, which I refuse to do. I have only shopped there once in the last five years. Drew wanted to get a DVD player that he could only find there. I knew that he was going to get it no matter how much I said Wal mart is evil. I went with him and bought a few groceries. For shame.

Does anyone here know how to find a good hair dresser?
by restrangled ini am going nuts!
as many of you may remember i had a really bad hair cut and highlighting session that has kept me in misery for at least 60 days.
i now have 2 inches of dishwater blond hair at the top, highly bleached blond in the middle, and that orangey gold at the base.

It sounds like you aren't looking for a big change. I would suggest cutting off as much of the orangey gold as you can bear to part with so you only have two undesireable colors left to deal with. The hardest part would be the ultra bleached middle. It is going to be hard to get any color to stick to that. What I would suggest for that is to try to find a colored mousse or something called fanci-full rinse. It washes right out if you don't like the color and it's really easy to apply. Secondly, even if you pay $120 try to put black over bleached blond, it won't stick. It will fade right out. So I say try the easy $10 drug store remedy. (Its done the trick for me several times)
All the good hair dressers around here are JW's! (Seriously!) So I've got to find a new one myself.
